Fire drill with the THJ System

On 06.11.2021 we were allowed to participate with our THJ system in the fire drill in the Katzenbergtunnel.

The Katzenbergtunnel has a length of 10km and is operated by the Deutsche Bahn.
Under the supervision of the Deutsche Bahn, the district fire chief Christoph Glaisner and the district fire chief Uwe Häubner, the fire departments responsible for the tunnel portals as well as helpers of the rescue and medical service took part.
The aim was to control the flow in the tunnel in order to secure the deployment of the rescue forces in the tunnel.
With the THJ system, we were able to control or even reverse the direction of the flow in the tunnel.
Extinguishing in the tunnel directly could not be performed in order not to stress the high-voltage lines too much during the exercise.
In an actual emergency, this would of course be carried out to cool and thus secure the infrastructure in the tunnel
The use of water was nevertheless demonstrated by aiming the THJ system over the tunnel.

Quote fire department commander Efringen-Kirchen Philipp Haberstroh:" Our goal of flow control was successfully demonstrated. The compact THJ system is a very good support for the fire department in such scenarios."
