Shooting operations in Meppen fully reopened and fireproof with Dicosy's firefighting crawlers and roll-off containers

The shooting and testing range in Meppen was reopened after a comprehensive inspection, which was necessary due to a bog fire in 2018.

Significant improvements have been made to fire protection and emergency management, including the investment of 10 million euros in additional extinguishing wells, special vehicles and a situation center staffed around the clock. The site is of great importance to the Bundeswehr as it is the only center of excellence for weapons and communications. In addition to fire prevention, measures have been taken to protect the moorland ecosystem, such as rewetting and the targeted removal of woody plants. A new procedure for recovering ammunition using drones was also successfully introduced.
